Call Us If…
Real situations, not a capabilities list. If one of these sounds familiar, you're in the right place.
- 01A transformer is unusually loud, hot or smells burnt.
- 02A 120/208V panel fed from a transformer has gone dead.
- 03A tenant fit-out needs a new transformer and panel.
- 04Load has grown beyond the existing transformer's rating.
- 05A renovation requires a transformer to be relocated.
What a Commercial Transformer Does
In a 347/600V building, step-down transformers convert 600V to 120/208V for receptacles, small equipment and many tenant panels. When a transformer fails, everything it feeds goes down; when it is undersized, it runs hot and ages early.

Transformer Work We Do
- New dry-type transformer installation for fit-outs and expansions
- Replacement of failed or undersized transformers
- Primary and secondary protection and feeders
- Grounding and bonding of transformer secondaries
- Relocation during renovations
- Troubleshooting transformer-fed panels
Sizing and Placement
A transformer is sized to the connected and expected load, with consideration for future additions. Placement needs ventilation, clearances and accessible disconnecting means. We assess both before quoting, and where a replacement unit has a long lead time we explain interim options.
When to Call About a Transformer
Loud humming beyond normal, discolouration, a burning smell, excessive heat or a dead downstream panel are reasons to call. Keep people clear of a transformer showing these signs; if there is smoke, call 911.
