Hot Tub & Spa Packs

A hot tub is a serious electrical installation — not a plug-in appliance. Most residential hot tubs need a dedicated 240V, 50A or 60A circuit sized to the tub's spec sheet, a GFCI breaker, outdoor-rated conduit or direct burial cable, and a weatherproof disconnect within sight of the tub so power can be cut instantly in an emergency. Bonding connects the tub and all nearby metal components so no voltage difference can exist between them. Every install is done with a permit and inspected before first use.

Equipotential Bonding — The Part You Can't Skip

Bonding is the single most important piece of pool electrical work, and the one most people have never heard of. An equipotential bonding grid connects the pool shell, the rebar or mesh in the deck, metal ladders and rails, the pump and heater, and the pool water itself into one electrically connected system — so no matter what happens, there's never a voltage difference between two things a swimmer can touch at the same time. It has to be installed during construction, before the deck is poured, and it has to be inspected. If bonding is missed or done wrong, there is no easy fix after the concrete goes down. This is exactly why pool electrical should be planned early — not called in at the end.

Pumps, Heaters & the Equipment Pad

The equipment pad is the heart of your pool's electrical system: pump, filter, heater or heat pump, automation, and disconnects all live there. We run dedicated GFCI-protected circuits for the pump and heater, install a weatherproof disconnect at the pad, and leave a clean, labelled installation your pool company can service for years. Adding a heat pump or hot tub to an existing setup? We'll assess your panel capacity first — many older 100A services need an upgrade to carry the extra load on top of the rest of the house.

Modern installations use low-voltage LED systems fed from a transformer, with wet-niche luminaires designed to be serviced safely. Permits & Inspections in Ontario

Every pool, hot tub, and spa electrical installation in Ontario requires an ESA permit. Pool builds involve inspection milestones — most importantly the bonding inspection before the deck is poured — and hot tubs are inspected before first use. We pull the permit, book the inspections, and coordinate timing with your pool installer or tub dealer so the electrical never holds up the project. When the job is done, you have the ESA paperwork to prove the whole installation was inspected and passed.

How the Work Is Done
